DONATE FROM YOUR IRA TO CHARITY - TAX FREE!
Thinking about your year-end giving? Congress has extended the “IRA charitable rollover” for one more year.
Donors are permitted to transfer (or “rollover”) money from their IRAs directly to Valley Forge Military Academy & College, without having to recognize the transfer as income.
You can make year-end donations, including your gift to VFMA&C, straight from your IRA up to $100,000 without paying income tax if you are age 70 ½ or older.
****NOTE: Once individuals reach age 70½, they are required to take minimum distributions from their retirement plans each year, according to a federal formula. IRA rollovers to Valley Forge Military Academy & College DO qualify towards the minimum required distribution****
December 31, 2011 is the deadline to sign up for this giving opportunity.
